Home Visitor / Family Enrichment Services Specialist

Family Enrichment Services Specialist wanted to work directly with families in their homes who will:
- Visit vulnerable families in their homes a minimum of once/week
- Use established curricula and develop new materials to teach parenting skills to families to prevent child abuse and neglect
- Provide parents with information regarding child development, child care, child safety, behavior management techniques and positive parenting practices
- Understand and promote secure attachment between parents and their children
- Demonstrate interactive parent-child activities
- Act as role model and teacher
The FES Specialist will help families to develop and implement strengths-based action plans and help link families and advocate for other needed community resources.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree is required along with relevant work experience and knowledge of child development. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills and ability to model positive parent-child interaction are required. Must have comfort in making home visits. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus. A willingness to participate in training and a demonstrated ability to apply material from classroom to field work is necessary. Computer skills including Word are required. A Ct state driver's license, a car in good working order and automobile liability insurance are required.
This position may require Saturday hours
